Generative AI has permanently altered the landscape of institutional accreditation. Schools can no longer rely on traditional documentation workflows — they must fundamentally rethink how evidence is generated, structured, governed, and reflected upon. The WASC accreditation process demands a new architecture: one where AI tools amplify rigor rather than shortcut it, and where continuous feedback loops replace static, point-in-time reporting.
The framework below maps a seven-stage pipeline — from AI-assisted evidence generation through strategic planning and monitoring — designed to help product managers and AI practitioners build evaluation systems that are both compliant and future-ready.

Select and govern generative AI platforms — LLMs, summarization tools, data synthesizers — that will power the accreditation workflow. Establish usage policies, bias guardrails, and audit trails before any evidence is produced.

Use AI to surface, draft, and compile institutional evidence at scale. This includes student outcomes data, faculty activity logs, curriculum maps, and program assessments — produced faster and with greater coverage than manual methods allow.

Deploy dashboards and automated alerts to track progress against strategic goals in real time. The system should flag drift, celebrate gains, and feed new data back into the evidence layer — closing the loop and sustaining momentum between accreditation cycles.
The Feedback Loop is the Architecture: Each monitoring cycle feeds new evidence back into Stage 2, making the entire pipeline self-reinforcing. Schools that instrument this loop well will not just pass accreditation — they will continuously improve between review cycles, turning compliance into competitive advantage.
